I was diagnosed with Bi-polar, PTSD and Anxiety at the age of 34, however after research and learning more about the illness I now know that I have battled with these illnesses for since I was a teenager and never knew it. I am a survivor of child physical, sexual and emotional abuse. I am also an incest survivor and the survivor of two suicidal attempts.
I suffered a mental health break in 2013 and was hospitalized. Since then I have worked really hard to maintain my own mental health and help others overcome their trauma. Through healthy living and staying on my meds I live a well-rounded happy life. I am fulfilling my goals and finally walking in my calling. I believe truly believe that everything someone goes through, no matter the trauma it was to help someone else along the way. I am proud to say that I am a survivor and I want so many other women know so are they. I am in the process of exploring some resources to assist my community with more mental health awareness to help break down the negative stigma of mental health. We all have a purpose we just have to tap into it.
